MapMyWater is an approximate documentation aid - not survey-grade, a utility locate, an engineering plan, an emergency-response system, excavation clearance, or a life-safety system.
Verify before acting
Maps, pins, coordinates, lines, dimensions, measurements, photos, notes, satellite imagery, geocoding, reports, and shared links may be approximate, materially inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, misidentified, or entered by another user. Accuracy depends on GPS, device conditions, base imagery, geocoding, user placement, available records, and field conditions. Never rely on MapMyWater alone to locate, isolate, excavate, repair, operate, or shut off infrastructure.
Excavation and emergencies
Contact 811 and comply with applicable one-call, permit, owner, utility, and excavation requirements before digging. For leaks, fire, electrical hazards, contamination, flooding, pressure hazards, confined spaces, or other emergencies, follow the property’s emergency plan and contact qualified professionals, utilities, or emergency services as appropriate.
Qualified judgment
Confirm field conditions, ownership, permissions, valve function, flow direction, service area, and asset identity using suitable instruments, records, markings, and qualified personnel. Do not enter restricted areas or operate equipment without authorization and training. Maintain independent records and backups for critical operations.
