MapMyWater Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: July 24, 2026
Pre-release legal draft: This revision is awaiting review by qualified California counsel and must not be promoted to production until the owner approves that review gate.
Map My Water (also branded MapMyWater, “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides field-documentation software for irrigation and water systems. This policy explains how the person or entity identified as the seller in your checkout confirmation, receipt, invoice, or order form handles personal information through mapmywater.com, our applications, support, and related services (the “Service”). The seller’s exact legal name and notice address must appear in that retained transaction record.
Important: Customers control the project content they upload. Do not upload personal or sensitive information unnecessary for water-system documentation.
Information we collect
You provide: account/contact information; workspace and role; project content such as property names/addresses, approximate map locations, component records, drawings, notes, service history, photos, reports, files, and share settings; support/feedback; and billing/subscription identifiers. Stripe processes payment-card details; we do not store full card numbers.
Collected automatically: authentication/session information, IP address, browser/device and request information, feature use, errors/security events, approximate IP-derived location, local browser data needed for sessions/workflow, and map/geocoding requests sent to relevant providers.
Sources: you, your organization/administrators, other users who include you in content, public business pages used for business prospect research, providers, and your browser/device.
How we use information
We use information to provide authentication, workspaces, mapping, storage, sharing, reports, exports, billing, support, administration, and owner-approved business outreach; secure/debug/back up the Service; prevent misuse; communicate service/security/billing/legal messages and permitted marketing; generate or classify internal AI-assisted drafts and records under human and policy controls; improve using appropriately controlled or aggregated information; comply with law; enforce agreements; and protect users, systems, rights, safety, and property.
When we disclose information
We may disclose information to your authorized organization/users/share recipients; providers supporting hosting, database/storage, authentication, payments, email, maps/geocoding, security, analytics if enabled, professional advice, and support; parties to a merger/financing/acquisition or asset transaction; authorities or others when reasonably necessary for law, safety, rights, systems, misuse, or claims; and as you direct. See our Subprocessor List.
We do not sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly use customer project content to train general-purpose AI models.
Customer responsibilities
Business customers generally determine why project content is collected and are responsible for notices, permissions, lawful instructions, and applicable requests. Users must have authority to upload third-party property, customer, worker, photo, and location information. Avoid unnecessary faces, license plates, access details, personal contacts, and other identifying/security-sensitive details.
Retention
We retain information while needed for the Service and legitimate business, security, dispute, insurance, tax, and legal purposes. Our internal targets are active customer content for the account term plus up to 30 days after a verified deletion or termination workflow, and deleted-account backups for no more than 90 additional days, unless a legal hold, security need, contract, dispute, or law requires longer preservation. Actual deletion timing depends on the affected systems and will be confirmed when a request is completed. Export needed records before cancellation.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the Service, but no service is perfectly secure. Protect sign-in links, limit workspace/share access, and maintain independent exports. Report suspected issues through our Security page.
Your choices and requests
Where available, access/update information, export projects, manage billing/cancellation, and unsubscribe from marketing. Essential service/security/billing/legal messages may continue. Request access, correction, deletion, or another right at support@mapmywater.com. We may verify identity/authority, route a request to the organization controlling the data, and apply legal exceptions.
We do not currently respond to legacy Do Not Track signals because no uniform standard exists. We do not currently sell/share data for cross-context behavioral advertising; if that changes or law requires an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will implement required controls.
Children, locations, and legal rights
The Service is for business users age 18 and older and is not directed to children. It is operated from the United States and information may be processed where providers operate. Rights vary; where a law applies, we will honor required rights without unlawful discrimination. This policy does not represent that every privacy statute applies to Map My Water.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service, providers, and law change. We will post the date and provide additional notice when required or appropriate. Email support@mapmywater.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject. Never email passwords, sign-in links, government IDs, or card data.
